Expedition Happiness!

The true story of Felix Starck and Selima Taibi, a young filmmaker and his musician girlfriend who travel around North America with their mountain dog, Rudi. They refurbish a old school bus into a tiny home.

They set off for Canada, Alaska, the U.S. West Coast, Mexico, and parts south. During their trip, they face lots of challenges, visa problems while crossing borders, heat strokes to Rudi, terrible roads and bus mechanical problems. Despite so many challenges this couple enjoy every moment of the trip. During the trip Rudi breaks his bones, and the couple learned that he had to go under surgery. That was a very emotional part of the movie.

They visited a wealthy chilly farmer in Mexico, learning later that he was a renowned drug dealer.

They were denied visa in US, loosing $400. Later, a lady in the embassy trusted their story and were finally given the visa. The biggest pitfall was when Rudi got ill in Mexico with a disease from a tick bite and gastritis from the medication., The biggest pitfall was when Rudi got ill in Mexico with a disease from a tick bite and gastritis from the medication, that’s when the couple decided to end the trip and fly back home.

The most interesting part of this movie is that, they don’t glamorise the frustrating and negative parts of unplanned travelling.

The scenery and views that was captured during their adventure was breathtaking, especially the one’s taken from drone. And as Taibi is a musician, she wrote some outstanding music tracks, the background music played in the movie is all composed by her.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this movie to anyone who loves adventure and would like to travel North America through the eyes of this exciting couple!
